Patriotism Fights Through Art
hey, i may not outwardly show it, but i am patriotic. one of my favorite songs is the national anthem... and yes, i can sing all the words correctly and in tune.
i have a real problem with adding your own style to a song of such national importance. there is a difference between being an artist and being a moron, and Scott Stapp crossed that line during Game 4 of the World Series. Compare the two lines of "God Bless America" and choose which one you think is the real one:
"God Bless America, land that I love..."
or
"God Bless America, land that I low..."
which one seems to be the one more likely to be the real words? scott is obviously to lazy to include the letter "v" in the word love. boy, if that doesn't show your devotion to your country, i don't know what does! his excuse, allegedly was that he sang the patriotic hymn in his own style. maybe that same style (repeated drunkeness) is the same reason Creed is now Alter Bridge and doesn't include you. call me up scott, and i'll sing the song the way it was meant to be sung. oh, and i hope that cardboard box recording studio is working out well for you...
