friendship

you know it takes a wake up call at four o'clock in the morning to realize one of the most basic things of human existence... that friendship is the only important thing in the world. what is more central to a happy existence than friendship? nothing but love and compassion for others... yesterday and early this morning i lacked that quality. i was not there for my friend when a friend should have been there. I was not the cornerstone or pillar that was needed but instead was a crack in the foundation. what is my excuse? my only excuse is that i have a lot to learn about being a good person and that until i can be a good person, i shouldn't be considered a great friend. i have strived in the past to be as great a friend to my aquaintances as possible, but tonight i realized that i have been nothing more than a cancer. for this i am ashamed of myself and do not know if i can ever be forgiven by those who i love and care for the most. simply put, i have a lot of ground to cover before i am the person that i want to be.

there are certain people in this world that i know i could not live without because of their impact upon my life. maybe without evening knowing it, they have caused me to be a much better person than i was before i knew them. each of you who is reading this (one in particular) has had an enormous impact upon my life and i cannot thank you enough for that. probably without even knowing it you have made me as good a person as an outside influence can... now it is up to me to put myself over the top. this is my goal. forget graduation from college, a good career, or finding love... my goal is to be a good person and most of all: a good friend. tonight, at 4:16 am i am deciding that i will be a better person to those around me first, then i will work to improve myself second. i hope those of you who have spent countless hours around me can forgive me for the time i have wasted on your behalf being a person who is not me and should never be me. especially in talking about the last month of my life, i have no excuse for the way i have acted and the friend that i have been. i cannot express how deeply disappointed i am in myself. i cannot apologize enough times in the rest of my life for the hurt that i have caused. i can only offer the promise that i will be there for you from now on, no matter the situation. i have heard it said that to lose or forget a friendship is like having died yourself... and this holds true with my own beliefs. i hope i have explained my guilt clearly enough so that you can understand how terrible i feel. i can only pray that those of you who have felt my wrath can give me a second chance. i probably will not sleep at all tonite because of the horror i feel inside and the guilt i feel. at this point, however, i feel as though i am getting what i have long deserved.

i want to end this by expressing what friendship means to me. friendship means being a rock when all that surrounds someone is sandy soil. friendship is being a reliable listener, not being distant and opinionated. a friend is someone who can tell you something you do not believe to be true about yourself. a friend is someone who will be there at all times of the day or night, under all circumstances, no holds barred. a friend is someone without an agenda besides the improvement of their friend. a friend is someone who, when his or her friend is experiencing trouble, will not ask how he can help, but will react appropriately and without being called upon. after all, "life is nothing without friendship" (ok, i stole that one from Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman orator).

president bush's kissing booth

what's the deal with president bush kissing people? did you see how he kissed both margaret spellings (education secretary nominee) ON THE LIPS!!!

or Condoleezza Rice (secretary of state)

i thought he was the conservative voice of america that people voted for on a moral basis. but he makes out with two of his female appointees?! the moral voice of america cheats on his wife on national tv and in the newspapers. at least he didn't kiss Alberto Gonzales, his nominee for attorney general, because if he had, he would have opened a whole 'nother can of worms (think dick cheney's daughter if you are struggling with this). at least if he had the plan of kissing everyone he nominated, he could appoint someone like laetitia casta or tyra banks. maybe he just likes the easy tongue access with concoleezza rice (you drive a truck though those front teeth. at this rate, he will probably be on the next temptation island (is that cancelled, maybe they should cancel him).

barry bonds, mvp?

for the fourth year in a row, barry BALCO bonds has been named mvp of the national league. let's examine his stats and see if he really deserved it:

Bonds: BA .362 45 HR 101 RBI 232/41 BB/K .609 OBP

Pujols: BA .331 46 HR 123 RBI 84/52 BB/K .415 OBP

Beltre: BA .334 48 HR 121 RBI 53/87 BB/K .388 OBP

the number of walks is the most glaring of the stats (hence, the higher On Base Percentage), but i don't find his higher batting average to be a good argument to carry him over. bonds had 200 less at bats than the other two candidates. bonds played on a team that did not make the playoffs. bonds does steroids... did i type that "out loud?!"

barry bonds is a cheater and everyone know it. look at these pictures from 1997 and 2000 and make up your own mind based on appearance alone.

also note his statistics. after a good career prior to these years, bonds' batting average continually climbed and in just one year (ignoring his off-year in 2000 of all years---possibly adjusting to his new body type?!?) his slugging percentage jumped 100 points, and has never looked back. although he is getting older too, this man made in a lab's stolen bases have plummeted and his fielding has gotten horrible (due to a lack of flexibility). what other evidence due you need?

bonds is a cheater, he does not deserve to be held above others, and for the legitimacy of baseball, he cannot be allowed to break hank aaron's record. when he does break the record, barring a career ending injury that i pray for every night, there had better be an asterisk stating: "cheated at the end of his career".

random rant

i haven't kicked people out of town since mike tice like i said i would. and it is late on a sunday, so i thought i had better do it now.

my profile states that i hate artificial things, and people are no exception. i cannot stand people who pretend to be something that they're not. i will never in my life be accused of being the so-called "poser." i despise people who think they are faking me and other people out by being "who they are." i would throw someone through a window and then out of town that blames someone or something else for their own damn problems. that is all americans do well these days... blame someone else. heaven forbid each of us have some honesty and integrity. its a lost art in this country and despite the minnesota nice, its a lost art locally too. don't have more pool keys, blame it on maintenance. don't want to tell the truth, blame it on forgetfulness or...

well, if you are reading this and also like to blame your problems on someone else, you are kicked out of town and so are the people around you who refuse to tell you that you are this way. unless you can except your problems, you are gone: friend or foe (this is not targeted at anyone specific, i just don't want any "posers" in my blog). if you can't accept this, then f*ck you and get out of my blog!

Yasser Arafat

Yasser Arafat has passed away and this is an important world event. News networks broke into their normal TV lineup to announce his death officially. People question the importance of this event in the United States because the PLO has no country and is more of an organization than a government in all reality. But they are the most civil (if that can be said) of the terrorist organizations in the world. Yes, Yasser Arafat himself created the foundation and set the standard of operation for today's terrorist organizations. Yes, Yasser Arafat's organization has killed thousands of innocent Israelis. But he also along with Yitzhak Rabin created the Oslo Accords in 1993, allowing Palestinian self rule of the West Bank and Gaza Strip for five years (which, I cannot believe this is in parenthesis, earned them each a share of the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize). I am in no way a fan of the man, but he was as good a man as can come from a terrorist organization.

Now, we face a time of uncertainty as the Palestinian Authority must choose a new leader. Can a new leader be chosen that can create a peace in Israel? Does Israel deserve peace since the West is primarily responsible for this horrible mess in the first place (thank you League of Nations)? Let us hope for peace because one less location of complete insanity and violence in the Middle East at this point would be a welcome change in world politics.

election reaction

guess who's back
back again
bush is back
he killed my friend
guess who's back, guess who's back...

you get the point... another four "wonderful" years of george w. bush are ahead of us. i can't wait. that is, i can't wait for 2008 (hey that was a clever rhyme). i am really disappointed b/c i know john kerry would have been a much more effective and efficient president... although without tom daschle in office, it would've been an uphill battle.

speaking of daschle, have the south dakotans lost the one collective brain cell they possess (in a steel vault somewhere west river)!? let's be honest (i always am), south dakota will never, barring a major rural migration, have a politician as powerful as tom daschle in power again... ever. so why in God's name would you ever vote against him, whether you like his policies or not? once again, south dakota starts a trend that will never catch on (like rust covered 1980 f-150s with chrome stovepipe exhaust). for the first time in 50 years someone in his position has been voted out of office, and basically because he bought a nice house for $5 million in DC. last time i checked, with the high property values in sioux falls, that same house would cost $500,000. and think if he built it in pierre, it would cost $120,000. or even sisseton ($3). south dakota, i would take you down a peg but you are still establishing the one you are hanging on right now (lowest ever if you are not catching what i'm throwing). good riddance and wtf.

so, i write with a message of hope and extend an olive branch to our new completely republican dominated society... wait a minute, no i don't. i can't wait to leave college and get one of bush's newly created $3/hour jobs that are so abundant. i can't wait to pay for no child left behind with a $120 and a box of popcorn (oh and one quart of iraqi crude oil). i look forward to a society where it is illegal to speak your mind over the radio and in print. oh, and i almost forgot, i can't wait to serve my country in canada via the draft, in order to aquire the drugs our senior citizens need. blame canada afterall... oh and mexico too, they are the ass-end of north america.

political ads

i know i have stressed the importance of voting over the short and greatly-viewed history of this blog. by no means, however, am i supporting the use of political ads. i can't even watch tv anymore... and if you know me well enough, that takes drastic measures. for the love of pete candidates, stop ruining our relaxation time by telling us who lied or what your favorite color is... i don't f**king care! mark kennedy and patty wetterling can both suck my balls... you both are horrible candidates! who gives a damn if john kline carried some stupid briefcase for presidents or teresa daly has an outdated haircut and wardrobe... i'd vote for doug williams (who you say, that is the Independence candidate who, thank God, can't afford to advertise on tv or even his own website!). and what can you say about kerry and bush... shut the hell up! i'm voting kerry but i still hate his ads.

how about the swift boat vets... thanks guys for contributing no evidence lately and putting your own pictures into an ad. i never cared what you guys looked like, and frankly, i don't see how saying kerry is a liar based on the word of mouth of a bunch of conservative bastards is good enough to pass sensors. remember, moveon.org was not allowed anti-bush advertising during the super bowl this year.

finally, wtf is going on with "I'm Teresa Daly, and I approved this message." you are a former member of a city council in a suburb, you are not running for President of the United States. shut up... all of you! i hate the message approval line, and no matter if it is law or not, it has to go.

rant, rant, rant... that's only thing i do well. just wish some other people would contribute
